The book "L'Offensive des Ardennes-The fight for the crossroads of Baraque de Fraiture, Manhay and the village Malempré of Eddy Monfort was for me the book to start with. Monfort describes, in French, in great detail the events in this region. This website is complementing and deepening his book.
Eddy Monfort spent no less than seven years on his book: he talked to veterans, researched events and places and collected an impressive collection of photos and maps.

The book "The Battle of the Bulge-A tour of the battlefield" of W.C Cavanagh is a good book to read for non-military experts (like me).
Not only he tells in a vivid way the events, he also points the battlefield exact locations.
The book was a welcome change in my quest.

The booklet "Company L, 289th Infantery in Combat" is recorded by the veterans of Company L itself.
This gift of Nick T. turned out not only on price worthwhile, but also it contained lots of information..
Company L describes the Battle of Grandmenil perhaps simple, but it produced is a major contribution to this website.

Furthermore I strolled months on the Internet, looking for evidence, images and photos.
The following sites and books were essential for the website:
- 75th infantery division dad: an ode to a son to his father, with many testimonials to be found.
- U.S. Army Center of Military History is a great site, with loads of information about the Battle of the Bulge.
- The last major source I used was a PDF article of Fort Benning, dated from 1947-1948. Intended for young soldiers to learn the strategy of modern warfare.
Short title: The operations of the 3rd battalion, 289th infantery at Grand Mesnil, Belgium, 25 December 1944 to 7 january 1945.

Of course I used other sources, but the list would be terribly long.
