The Replacement - Robert F. Kauffman

Meeting veteran Robert Kauffman was quite a story. Reading his book was marvellous. Kauffman is not a soldier, who's telling about his brave actions. Kauffman is writing from the human perspective, facing all the fears belonging to the battlefields. His writing is full of fear, emotions and detailed. You don't read a story about a hero, in this book you're meeting a guy who experienced this war with only one goal: surviving it.

Kauffman start his journey in Normandie and ends his missions in Montleban/Belgium.

A must-read for everyone who wants to meet the man behind the soldier.
